DILETTA 440i sets high targets for travel document printing. Whether on standard paper or directly on passport security paper - this printer is a real expert. Its real life-like colours are clean, bright and reliable for many years.

The big increase in international travel activities and the need of adequate security measures require fast control of secure travel documents. Individual security features become international standards such as digitally printed photographs, security ink, machine-readable code lines, bio-metric data as contained in 2-dimensional barcodes (fingerprint, eyescan), and so on – all these features are already supported by DILETTA 400i series.

Colour Print Perfection.
For those who rely on top print quality DILETTA 440i offers an excellent choice. Each passport page will show laserprinted contours and clearly defined shades. A first-class printing quality on all security type of papers. Not only the printing of the machine-readable lines and the visual zones are of top quality but there is also the impressive colour photograph printing. This is achieved by the high performance of the print head which has a resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi (dots per inch). Two parallel installed print heads manage the job – colour print head DC-91 for the photograph and black print head DC-90 for the machine readable print. DILETTA 440i sets the professional standard for colour printing in the passport issuing office.

Color and invisible UV-color in ONE-PASS.
The print head DC-94 UVplus contains six colors: The basic colours are cyan, magenta, yellow and additionally three invisible UV-colors plus black from DC-90 print head. This print head in combination with the optional UV-color printer driver provides the print of color and UV-color in one pass!
Photograph print head DC-92 contains six colours: The basic colours are cyan, magenta, yellow and additionally photocyan, photomagenta, photoyellow plus black from DC-90 print head. This multi colour brilliance with 9 shades per each basic colour truly reproduces the original photograph.

DILETTA 440i cares for the needs of a busy issuing office. The specially developed ink tank DC-90 (black) can be exchanged easily independant of the colour tanks DC-91 and DC-92. However, you will not need to change them too often as the capacity for black printing exceeds your expectations – even when you need to run a non-stop application.
Thick or thin documents? Easy!
DILETTA 440i handles a wide range of different print requirements: It can print directly onto every page of a 100 page passport as well as onto visas, bank saving books, military booklets, seamans booklets, ID cards, driving licences and many other documents without requiring any adjustment to the printer.
DILETTA 440i also handles a variety of print material such as thin paper through to carton box material, security paper, coated paper, Teslin, overhead projection films (OHP), glossy photo paper. All print results are of a high quality with brilliant colors and crisp, black text.

DILETTA 440i is delivered with printer drivers for Windows 95 / 98 / Millenium Edition, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Printer driver for Linux and MacOS operating systems optional available.

10baseT (Twisted Pair) Ethernet Adapter (optional)
Connects printers directly to the network allowing users of different operating systems to share printer resources. The Ethernet Adapter is the easy way of connecting a DILETTA 440i printer to an Ethernet network. Instead of attaching your printer locally to the PC, use the Ethernet Adapter and free computing resources. The main benefit is that it allows you to share your printer with other workgroup members, and compared to a PC it will handle printing faster, more reliably and more effectively.

The cartridges' capacity
The ink tank and the ink cartridge of the DC-90 build one unit, so you need to replace the whole cartridge once the ink is empty. The ink tank of the DC-91, DC-92, DC-93 and DC-94 can be changed separately, so you do not have to change the whole cartridge. You can use the print head up to five times.
The mentioned capacities are only valid for passport mass-production. The capacitiy of passports per cartridges in embassies or small passport offices is maybe 1/10 depending on printed passports per day, cleaning procedures of print heads, etc.
